More than 40% of all working time lost by employees is attributable to mental health problems, which costs UK businesses an estimated 8.4 billion a year in sickness absence (SCMH, 2007). Stress, anxiety and depression are among the main causes of long-term absence of 20 days or more from work (CBI, 2011).
The prevalence of mental health problems in the workplace and their contribution to the significant and escalating costs of sickness absence and staff turnover make a compelling case for interventions to help employees address their difficulties and thus enhance their general wellbeing and functioning at work.
CBT Solutions Scotland operates across Scotland. We provide effective therapeutic interventions to improve the health and wellbeing of staff experiencing psychological and emotional problems, and thereby reduce sickness absence and increase staff retention. In addition, we are experienced in the provision of treatment programmes designed to assist absent employees overcome their difficulties and successfully return to work.
We specialise in the provision of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) which are recommended as the treatment of choice by the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) for common mental problems such as anxiety disorders, depression and Post-traumatic Disorder.
We are also skilled and experienced in the delivery of Brief Solution-Focused Counselling interventions. Our aim is to help people reclaim their mental health and wellbeing so that they can function more effectively at work and achieve a return to work where appropriate.
Early intervention is vital to ensure short-term problems do not deteriorate and become more debilitating over time, resulting in employees taking time off work and indeed prolonged sickness absence. Our psychological interventions consist of:
We realise that successful interventions are also dependent on a number of other factors such as the severity of the individual’s problems, their level of motivation and the level of social and workplace support available to them. We will take these considerations into account during the assessment and treatment planning process and will liaise closely with you to ensure the best possible outcome for each person.
We are dedicated to providing a consistently high quality and effective service and are happy to receive referrals from:
